Editing:

I edited my image using Photoshop. The main tool I used was the healing brush to remove certain spots and blemishes. I also worked around with the colours, contrast and brightness to make sure the image was not washed out. I then cropped the image down to only show from the shoulders up.

A good Headshot in the industry:

A good headshot starts with the framing so shoulders up, the next step is good lighting on the face especially avoiding any large shadows. Often in a headshot it is better to not stand face on as this can look a little weird. The background should be simple as you do not want this to distract from the main focal point. The camera should be roughly at eye level.

Reasons for a headshot:

A headshot is needed because it helps make you look professional when a client or anyone is looking into you. A headshot also should help the employer gage at least a part of your personality and style. Having a good quality headshot can also help you standout from other potential candidates.

Contact Sheet:

These were the other options that I could have used for my headshot but decided against them because of weird faces or them being to cropped in.
