Feedback & Reflection on business plan

LL Productions is the business idea that I came up with and on the whole all of the basics are covered from financing the business to the process of production. The actual presentation itself went well. I know that my nerves were high but I feel that I got across all of the information that I needed to and was able to fill in the missing information from the PowerPoint . The next steps of the business would be to get everything I said I would and to bring it into action, for example taking out the bank loan and getting the social media campaigns up and running. One of the areas that I was questioned on during my presentation was nationalising the business and how I would promote the business nationally, one of our ways of advertising was through the use of a leaflet that we would post through businesses doors but this would not be easily possible on a more national scale. One area that is similar to the leaflet is sending a form of digital leaflet which we then send via email, but the ...

Google ads  (  https://ads.google.com/home/pricing/?subid=ww-ww-et-g-aw-a-vasquette_ads_cons_1!o2 ) Google is the most used search engine and also has largely used platforms like youtube. This means that you will get a large range of people potentially seeing your video. Each view of an advert will cost you on average around 10p per view but they do have an option where you can set monthly spending caps which can be adjusted at any time, this enables you to be flexible on how much you want to one spend on advertisement a month but also can alter how many people see your advertisement. Instagram promotions This kind of advitisment gets people onto your social media profiles that can then draw them to a website or other areas of the business.

How regulatory frameworks affect my business.

Tv advertising rules. ASA - This is because we will be creating advertisements that will be published into the public domain. This means we will be required to stay inline with  ASA and CAP guidelines depending on whatever platform it is seen on.  Clearcast - Clearcast is a tv advertisement checking organisation that is owned and funded by eight of the largest commercial broadcasters in the UK, this would enable us if our advert was destined for tv advertisement to have the advert checked properly throughout the process to make sure we were not breaking any rules, this also would take the pressure of the production team if we had help from professionals in the field. Copyright The work in advertisement often means we will be using extra footage that we didnt capture, which means we will be using stock assets and for this we will have to make sure that they our completely copyright free or that we have paid a fee to actually use their content, and that we have clearance to use ...

Evaluation (First Draft)

Evaluation. Over the duration of the course we have had one main aim to come up with an idea for a creative enterprise. Along the way we learned about all the things necessary to set up a creative business, from legal requirements to finances. We also had to make sure that we completed some practical work that would help develop our skills in the creative industry. Fairly early on in the year we were tasked to make a short film which we titled ‘Hollow’. This was the first time that we had worked as a whole group, as a whole the process was quite smooth but did have some small issues which for a first time is expected. One of the things I think we actually did well was coming up with the idea, it did take a few lessons to get the main plot points out with a few different variants of the idea being thrown around but this did mean the main idea evolved. When it came down to filming although we got through it we had problems, like no real shoot plan and that not everyone fully unders...

Cultural Policy affect on business

Cultural policy affect on my business  Cultural policy in basics is following new rules and guidance given out by the government. In 2020 the government was constantly changing advice to company's when the first lockdown came about every company pretty much stopped and that means that new ways of filming advertisement or any creative project had to be evaluated. One way around this is switching to being just a company that edits footage sent in by business at a reduced cost to the clients. If ways of going to locations is found the production will have to fully follow every bit of covid guidance from face masks to social distancing, as Covid regulation and would have to provide both masks and other 'PPE', any shared equipment will also have to be fully sanitised between uses which means we will have to supply disinfectant wipes or sprays to keep everything clean. Another problem with the Covid-19 situation is financing as business who have not been operating might not have ...

Website feedback

Image
I asked some friends to look at my website and they picked up on some things mainly spelling errors. It was pointed out that I needed to capitalised Adobe and that I had the wrong spelling of 'Suite' . make had to be changed to 'making' for it to make sense and flow. Products lines changed to Product lines just so that it makes sense. Small issue in this section where I had put business where I needed to put 'Businesses' for it to make sense. Email Feedback of Business Plan

Image
Email Response from Radar Films founder Chris Rawson  Dear Luke, Thanks for your email. I agree with you that it’s a great way of making a business, but you also need to realise that the market is very competitive. You’ll need to find some way of differentiating yourself. In my case that’s because I have a drone…I get a lot of business from people who want drone footage and I then upsell. If I were starting again with drones, I would get an FPV unit, as that’s the next thing. The branding looks good. You don’t need the ‘best’ equipment, you need the most appropriate equipment. If you are going to commit to it, you should spend the money and get the right kit in the beginning, otherwise you will end up spending more. You should also register for VAT so it costs less upfront. I reckon you need x2 decent cameras with 2 different lenses -something like a 24-70 zoom and something really high quality in prime – I use a 50mm F1.4. Consider a probe lens too. You’ll need two tripods and at...

Finance Sheet   <--(Link to Finance sheet) (Mainly on Cash flow tab) Bank Loan Payment research  This is a HSBC small business loan outline that i put into a business loan calculator to figure out a rough estimate of of much would have to be payed back each month (the minimum amount) https://www.capalona.co.uk/calculators/business-loan-calculator/#bob https://www.business.hsbc.uk/en-gb/finance-and-borrowing/credit-and-lending/small-business-loan Based on the rough price list that I implemented into my website and for the finance sheet im going to be simple and say I make a 1 sale of each item a month. Princing changes and additions: Employees. Certain products might require more than just me, in these cases we wont just have extra employees who we have to constantly pay for we will seek help with freelancers on a one off payments per production. Extra staff will mean the price of a production will go up

Website Research

Image
https://www.skeletonproductions.com/ Skeleton Productions website uses a vibrant Blue, Pink and White colour scheme. The colour scheme gives it a bright and interesting look without turning childish. Skeletons top information bar is kept simple and easy which enables it to be self explanatory on whats inside each label.  When the website is opened you our instantly greeted with a shortcut to their showreel which gives a quick overview of what the company does. Along with everything about what they have done they also offer insights into how they work and what the believe in. The end of the main page has shortcuts to ways that people can contact them to find out pricing and also has some links to social medias run by the company. The Website as a whole is very easy to navigate and has good readability throughout with added interesting features thrown in. some areas in the labeled areas do have large areas of just white which make it look unfinished. Separation between each segment i...

My logo Designs

Image
This design started off as two 'L' and I trialed connecting them by using some rectangles which gives a slight optical illusion of depth. I played around with some different colour to differentiate the layers as well as trying a black backdrop rather than a white backdrop. I also trialed a white and black style on top of a 3.5mm film real backdrop. My favorite out of these four is the first one that has a white background as it feels simple and easy to understand. but I do like the use of the film strip behind the logo as it adds to the fact that its a production company. some of these logos would need to be adjusted to fit into social media profile photos but when it comes down to a website/banner they would all work just fine.
